After this we headed back to Big Molas Lake to see if Aengus had stopped wandering since we couldn’t find him the night before. Sure enough he was in his spot.

The Million Dollar Highway [Day Four - Part 1]
Pam at the Inn of the Rockies had a great breakfast waiting for us at 8:00am. Granola with fresh whipped cream and fruit, coffee, bacon and waffles. A great way to get the day started. After breakfast and getting the car loaded we headed for a letterbox just two blocks over from the hotel – DSNGRR letterbox. Found it pretty easy and brought in back to the car to stamp in – it was only 23 degrees this morning in Silverton.
After this we headed back to Big Molas Lake to see if Aengus had stopped wandering since we couldn’t find him the night before. Sure enough he was in his spot.
The lake area is beautiful in the morning. Now we can head north to Ouray on the Million Dollar Highway. Along the way we stopped at Red Mountain Pass to find Wings of Eagles. Easy climb and easy find when you follow the clues. Thomas and I went a little too far because we weren’t paying attention – it all ended well when we found the box. Our next stop was Box Canyon Park – we only stopped to nab that box and then headed into Ouray. What a great little town! We walked around for a while and then stopped in a little store for some snacks for the rest of our trip.
After this we headed back to Big Molas Lake to see if Aengus had stopped wandering since we couldn’t find him the night before. Sure enough he was in his spot.
