It was a beautiful morning, a little chilly, but with the promise of a day of sunshine and great letterboxing - and we weren't disappointed.
Now off to Waco! Big plans here. First we went to Oakwood Cemetery and found three Boots Tex Governors Series stamps. We enjoyed all the boxes. We also took pictures and walked around a little - the cemetery was beautiful and peaceful. With all the boxes in the cemetery found we left to meet Travelin' T's for lunch (we actually only met 1/3 of the T's). We had a great lunch and discussed letterboxing. It was an extremely relaxing and enjoyable time. After we left the restaurant Astro D and I stopped for a quick drive-by letterbox called Pepper, PhD. and then headed off to the Baylor campus. Our main goal was to find the Travelin' T's Baylor History Walking Tour. We also had a few other clues for boxes on the campus that were also placed by Travelin' T's. Our first find on the campus was Bearly There, followed by Quiet Angel, Baylor History Walking Tour, Ducky Duckles, Sailor Bear, Just Passing Through HitchHiker Hostel and finally Zuni Bear. It was a fun and perfect letterboxing day. We got to see Baylor's beautiful campus, visit with one of the nicest letterboxers we have ever met (Thanks, Sha!) and found some wonderful boxes. Other highlights of the day: meeting three other letterboxers by chance out letterboxing as well (it was nice to meet Mimzy, zturtle and MJ); having one of the students tell us that if we stood on the school's seal out in front of Pat Neff Hall and talk you will get an echo - pretty cool; Astro D reaching 400 finds; and I filled up another letterboxing journal.
It was now a little after 5pm and we needed to get to Austin. In Austin we are staying with a friend of Astro D's. Once we found her house and unloaded the car we all went out to dinner. We had a relaxing evening with some good food and conversation. I am tired, I have taken a shower and am trying to organize and log my letterbox finds, post this journal and call it a night. Tomorrow - letterboxing in Austin!
