No alarm this morning, but I was still awake by 6:00am. So I got up and gathered all my stuff for the day. After that I took a shower and got dressed and then put everything in the car. I went back into the hotel and had some breakfast and studied the map and decided where I was heading for the day. I wasn't sure what the day would entail since it was pretty overcast and there was some expected rain - I would just have to play it by ear.

Time to head out. I decided to head to the
Yarmouth Port area and then make my way back towards the hotel. So I drove to my first location, a cemetery. The clue wasn't straight forward - I had to do a little research before I got to the cemtery and then when I got there. I parked, found the right grave, figured out the numbers I needed and walked to the right spot. I located the landmark and started counting - no box. I backtracked and counted again - no box. Checked all my answers and repeated everything - still no box. Not sure if it was missing or if I was just mixed up. So I decided to move on, I stopped at the Yarmouth Public Library and easily found one of Archimedes Screw's Toy Box boxes. After playing a little Scrabble I got back in the car and headed for another cemetery. I entered the cemetery and found the area I needed and quickly found another Archimedes Screw letterbox. I stamped in and rehid the box. I had clues to a mystery box I solved and I started looking for it. Not sure if I solved it right or not but I never could find the right landmarks and needless to say I never found the box. It was time to continue on. I headed to a Yarmouth Port Walking Trail off of Kingsbury Way. I headed down the trail and was enjoying my walk. I followed the clues and found two boxes on this trail. I did look for another one but was unable to find it - and I found that there were two others listed that I hadn't noticed when I made my list that I could of looked for here, oh well, I may try again tomorrow - we'll see how it goes.

After leaving Kingsbury Way I drove to
Bray Farm. Here I found two letterboxes and watched some of the animals get fed. I really liked this area. It was peaceful and relaxing. By this time I was getting hungry and it was a little after noon. The morning was a little chilly, overcast and there were some light drizzles - but it was nothing too bad and I enjoyed my morning on the Cape. I stopped at a restaurant -
Oliver's - and had some fish and chips and a cup of clam chowder. That warmed me up from the chilly morning. It was a nice lunch and after relaxing for about an hour I headed out to begin my afternoon of letterboxing.
My afternoon consisted of walking a trail off of West Yarmouth Road and walking a trail at
Sandy Pond Recreation Area. I found chunna's The Postman Cometh series of three boxes on the nature trail off of West Yarmouth Road. This was a nice walk and I enjoyed the quiet and I found all three boxes easily. After this I continued heading back towards the hotel. My last stop of the day was at Sandy Pond. I walked the Life Course and found three boxes along the way. It was a good way to end the day - I found Archimedes Letterbox and was amazed at the detail of the carvings. By this time I was tired and a little chilled. The weather stayed pretty overcast all day and I don't think that the temperature ever got higher than about 55 degrees.
Once back at the hotel I showered and logged in my finds and got things ready for tomorrow. I think I will turn in early tonight and that way I can be ready to do more exploring on the Cape tomorrow.
