I decided that today would be a more relaxed day so I didn't get up until 7:30am and took my time getting ready. I watched the news and had some breakfast and decided what I wanted to do for the day. At around 9:00am I headed out to
South Yarmouth to look for a series of ten boxes. I found the trailhead and parked. I took my time walking this trail and finding the boxes. This series was all about spanish words - it combined two words into one stamp - an animal and a color (for example the first box was Oso Pardo (Brown Bear). The series was based on a book . . .
Oso pardo, oso pardo, ¿qué ves ahí?. There was only one log book, it was in the last book. I had a little difficulty with a couple of the boxes, they weren't hidden where the clue stated they were, so I had to search the area until I found them. But I enjoyed the walk on the trails - it was a very peaceful morning. From this series I attempted to find another Archimedes Screw Toy Box letterbox - but the road to the park was closed for something and they wouldn't let me through.

So I decided to head to another trail off of West Yarmouth Road and look for the Never Forget Series. This was a series of five boxes planted in honor of Veteran's Day. Again only a logbook in the last box. I took my time walking the trails and looking for the boxes. This was a very nice series and the stamp carvings were really good. Once I found the last box I took my time walking back to the car. It was a little after noon when I got to the car and I looked at the clues I had and thought about what I wanted to do. I had some clues for some mystery boxes (well semi-mystery) that I thought I had figured out. So I drove to the area and thought I was in the right spot. But things unraveled at an alarming rate. I found a landmark and retrieved some information, but when I went to find the next landmark I was totally lost. From that point I didn't know what to do. I walked around the area and I even drove to another spot thinking that I had solved it but never did find anything so I gave up. I am sure it was easy enough but I just couldn't get it.
By this time I was a little hungry and I decided that I wanted to take a little break from letterboxing. So I parked on Main St. in
Hyannis and walked around a little.

I visited the
JFK Museum and stopped in a couple of little shops. Around 2:00pm I found a nice little restaurant and had a late lunch outside. I read a little while eating and just relaxed. Then I decided I wanted to sit near the water. So I drove around until I found a beach with some benches and I sat and read and enjoyed the beautiful day. Around 4:00pm I decided to call it a day. I picked up a salad on the way back to the hotel and put it in the fridge for later. I have taken a shower, logged in my finds and once I am done writing this blog I will eat my salad and plan for my day tomorrow. The plan is to leave Cape Cod and head for Rhode Island. I will let you know how the drive goes. See you later.
