Our Last Day on the Ship

We are at the end of our cruise and today it was all about cruising. We have no port stops and I guess that was a good thing. We have had some wonderful weather up until today and it is rainy and cloudy and foggy. We slept in and did a little reading this morning before getting dressed and heading up to the Ocean Cafe for breakfast - I had pancakes, milk, orange juice and coffee and Thomas had fried eggs with bacon and coffee. After a leisurely breakfast we returned to the cabin to get our clothes packed and organized (our bags had to be outside our room by 11:00pm). When we finished that task I decided to walk the ship and take pictures. I started on Deck 11 and walked forward to aft and then went down to Deck 10 and walked aft to forward. I kept alternating my direction each time I went down a deck. While on Decks 10 & 11 (since I had to be outside part of the time) I tried to capture some of the scenery. I wasn't having much luck because of the weather. Anyway I took pictures of as many of the areas of the ship as I could. Some didn't come out so good because of lighting and my flash didn' t really help (you can see some of the pictures at Alaska 2011 Ship Tour). When I completed my picture taking I met Thomas for lunch at the Ocean Cafe. I had chilled melon & ginger soup, pizza (2 slices) and vanilla ice cream with carmel sauce and Thomas had a salad, roast beef, broccoli and chocolate ice cream with hot fudge sauce. While sitting having coffee at a table near the windows we started seeing things moving in the water. It turned out to be dolphins and quite a lot of them. We watched them for about 10 minutes before deciding to go up to Deck 11 and have a stroll around the track. The weather was a little better, no rain or fog but still plenty of clouds. We had a nice walk and then returned to the cabin for a little nap and some reading. At 4:00pm I went down to the Gamma Room for our last group meeting. I still needed a couple of exchanges and one or two personal travelers. I also got a couple more letterboxes this afternoon. Then I returned to the cabin to shower and change for dinner. The entire group was meeting for dinner at 6:30pm. They sat us at four tables - two were next to each other and then a few tables over were the other two tables next to each other. We sat with Dave & Deanne, Doublesaj & Old Blue and Grumpy Grinch. We had a fantastic time reliving each others experiences of the trip. It was nice to have met so many incredible people and to have made such wonderful new friends. We talked and laughed while Grumpy Grinch impersonated Debbie (remember our tour guide on land) when she used her had as a map of Alaska and said "We are here!". As the night came to a close, pictures were taken and hugs were exchanged as everyone said their goodbyes. Thomas and I returned to the cabin to finish packing our bags and put them in the hall. In the morning we dock in Vancouver.
