The Lariat Loop

It all started very early, up at 6:30am, breakfast at 7:00am and finding the first letterbox of the day at 7:50am. Today was a day of driving and searching out letterboxes in the Lariat Loop Series planted by preboxed and Front Range Hiker.

The Lariat Loop is a 40 mile loop (give or take a mile or two) that takes you through the communities of Golden, Morrison, Idledale, Kittridge, Evergreen, Bergen Park and to the top of Lookout Mountain. Needless to say this was an all day adventure. I can't go in to too much detail since the Lariat Loop Series of letterboxes are a little mysterious. There were so many things to see and do I have decided that Thomas and I need to return soon to enjoy some of the things we missed.

Once we had found all 14 boxes in the series we were tired. And it was 6:30pm! We were happy that we accomplished our goal and decided to find someplace to eat dinner and then we would return to the hotel. Thomas wanted to drive to Idaho Springs to have pizza at Beau Jo's Mountain Pies. It was a good decision. We had a great meal with a spectacular view. We sat near a window and looked out onto a pretty nice waterfall.

We have returned to the hotel, gotten showered and have logged in all my finds of the day. I think it is time to call it a day. Tomorrow, maybe a little more in Golden and then we head to Denver.
