After a nice evening and a good night's sleep I think we were all rested and ready for another day. We had a great breakfast and talked about the event some more and just relaxed and enjoyed the morning. At about 10:30am Astro D, Bell Motel and I set out to find some boxes in Austin and there were plans to see an exhibit at the
Blanton Museum of Art called
Birth of the Cool: California Art, Design, and Culture at Midcentury. But the museum was closed so we just spent the day letterboxing.

We started our letterboxing at
Shoal Creek and found two of the Shoal Creek history series. From there we made our way in the direction of
UT. We stopped and found two boxes near the university and then made our way to campus. We ended up finding three boxes on campus and we looked for one that Bell Motel had found but it was missing. By this time we were all hungry so we stopped and had lunch at a great little Greek restaurant by campus. Once satiated we continued on our treasure hunt. Our next stop was
Oakwood Cemetery. I wanted to find RayRay's fifth 5 Kingdoms Microbox Series. I had all the other ones from a previous visit and only needed this one to complete it. Astro D and Bell Motel were gracious enough to make the stop since they both had this box. From there it was on to the
Capitol.

As you know I love visiting these and the added bonus were two Bell Motel stamps. We walked around the grounds, found the memorials and the two boxes. Astro D and I stamped in and oohed and aahed over these beautiful carves. I have both of mine on the same page of the logbook and they look great. After stamping in and rehiding the boxes we walked a little more and I took some pictures. Then it was time to move on. Our next destination was the
Botanical Gardens. Astro D wanted to find my
Sakura box and there were three other boxes as well. We ended up finding three of the four boxes and one of those was Jack's Haiku. For this box you were asked to leave a haiku in the logbook so here is mine (please be kind for I am not a poet).
We boxed in Austin
Botanical Gardens called
Jack's Haiku we stamped.
When we tried to find the last box there were two people sitting on the bench we needed.

And they were studying so we decided to go find a couple of boxes that weren't too far away from the gardens and then go back to get the last one. So we found
Chuy's and
Sno-Beach before returning to find Love and Friendship 2 at the gardens. Thus, our letterboxing came to an end for the day. It was time to return to Bell Motel's and have dinner. Again Tom out did himself. He cooked boiled crabs and shrimp, roasted squash and salad - an incredible meal. By the time we finished eating and cleaning up it was time for bed. Astro D and I wanted to get an early start in the morning to make our way to San Angelo.
