Tucson Event Day

Last night I slept really well and I was up early this morning and ready to go. Once I was ready I decided to do some letterboxing before heading to the event. But before heading out I made sure to rehide the box I found last night. Yesterday I spent some time at Kennedy Park but didn't have time to get all the boxes so I decided to head there this morning and finish finding those. So I parked and hit the trail. This is the same trail I walked yesterday and in the same area. It wasn't a long walk and there were four boxes for me to find. So I followed the clues and found three boxes by tigerlily - Leapin' Lizard, IL to AZ Boxing and Saguaros in the Sun and I found one by FamilyTreeShaker - 9th @ Kennedy. Once I was done with all these boxes I headed back to the car and the left the park to get to the 11th Annual Tucson Arizona Letterboxers Gathering which was being held at Freedom Park.

When I arrived at the park I made my way to the ramada and there were already quite a few people there. So I jumped in and started getting exchanges and personal travelers. I only needed a few since I had met most of the people there at other times. Then I gathered up the clues for the boxes planted in the park. I ended up boxing with AZJokester, FamilyTreeShaker, Azroadie and Desert Flower. We found Barbie's Catamaran, Golf Links, Honor Flight, Liberty Bell and Air Force Memorial. When we returned to the ramada I found Visit Tucson and then FamilyTreeShaker, WordGirl and I headed out to find Father Tucson. Then I just spent the next couple of hours visiting with people before heading out with Desert Flower, FamilyTreeShaker, Wisconsin Hiker and Martini Man to find one of Desert Flower's Baja Botany boxes. We took a short walk on the trail and we found Angiosperm:Dicot:Phaseolus acutifolis. After stamping in we returned to our cars. Here we said goodbye and parted ways. I decided to return to Kennedy Park for one more box. [After talking to Azroadie at the event I realized I had forgotten the clues to a box there and wanted to go back to find it.] I did find it without any problems and then quickly returned to the car.

By this time I was feeling tired and decided to call it a day. I stopped on the way to the hotel to fill the car with gas and then stopped to get something to eat. I took the food back to the hotel and ate. Then I took a shower and got my things packed. Tomorrow I leave to start my journey back to Santa Fe. I really enjoyed the event and getting to visit with other boxers, maybe I will return next year.
