I slept in this morning (well if you call 7:30 sleeping in) and took my time getting out the door. The event didn't start until noon but I wanted to do a few letterboxes before that. First off I found two mystery boxes. At first I thought I was in the wrong place but eventually things fell into place and I found both the boxes I was looking for. So I headed to the next place.

I made my way to the
Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, a very beautiful place. I found Patriotic Tribute placed by Bandaid (who will be in Santa Fe next week and I will get to meet) and I enjoyed these two boxes. The cemetery was very quiet this morning - only a few visitors so I had ample opportunity to find, stamp in and rehide the boxes without being seen. Now it was time to head to the event. The event was being held at Browning Mill Pond in the
Arcadia Management Area. It was a little early but I wasn't exactly sure where I was going so I wanted to give myself some extra time just in case I got lost. I ended up finding the spot just fine. I did pass it up at first because I missed the sign but a quick turn around got me to the right place a little early.
So I got to talk to Wanda and Pete for a little while until other people started showing up. I met veganf and the Dolphins (well it was just veganf - the dolphins were at home) and we decided to hit the trails and look for a few boxes. We ended up looking for (and finding) eight boxes that made up the Charming Backpack and Camping Series. This was a very well done series - a bracelet with seven charms. We then returned to the pavillion where we managed some exchanges and personal travelers. Then it was back on the trail to find the Chowda series (six little boxes that had to do with clam chowder) - very nice and fun boxes. Then back to the pavillion for more exchanges and some
Rhode Island Clam Chowder. This chowder was different from other chowders, it was a clear broth instead of the creamy kind that I have had before.

It was pretty good. And after eating veganf and I decided to do one more series before calling it a day. We found the Still Dreaming of Trails Series. Some very nice stamps from carvers all over the country, and we got to hike some very nice trails. When we returned to the pavillion there were a couple more people that wanted to exchange and I still needed the event stamp. It was a beautiful sunny day and I had a great time. It was good to see Wanda and Pete again and I was glad to find out that they aren't completely retiring just scaling back quite a bit. So I said my goodbyes and headed back to the hotel. Tomorrow I make my way to the Boston area and I fly home on Tuesday.
