Hanging Around Houston

This morning came too early for me but there wasn't much I could do about it. I was awake at 5:30am and I couldn't get back to sleep. So I showered, dressed and went down to the lobby and had breakfast. Once I had breakfast I worked on a few things on the computer. Astro D arrived at about 7:00am and while she ate we talked about our day. We planned a few things but decided to have alternate plans since the sky looked gloomy and the forecast called for rain. After discussing things and coming to an agreement we finally ventured out. We did some letterboxing in the Heights area and ended up finding three boxes before lunch. We also looked for two boxes that we didn't find.

Our plans for the day included having lunch with a couple of letterboxers in downtown. We ate at Treebeards in Market Square. It was a good time and good food. Dewberry, Lore, Astro D and I talked and ate for a little over an hour, and by that time the rain had eased a little. The sky still looked like it would let loose at any time. But since it was not raining at the time Astro D and I headed to David Adickes Sculpturworx to see his sculptures of the President's heads and to find a letterbox. The box was an easy drive by and once I had stamped in we went to look at the sculptures. Not only did we see the Presidents we also saw the Beatles. I thought the whole thing was pretty cool. We spent the rest of the afternoon doing a little shopping - we went to Texas Art Supply and IKEA. The evening was spent with Astro D's friends Melinda and Clark having a great dinner - we ate, talked and relaxed. Unfortunately, I think the traveling is catching up with me. We made it an early night - I got back to my hotel room, took a quick shower and am now writing this blog. I plan to be fast asleep by 10:30pm. I will be back tomorrow to keep you posted on the trip. Goodnight!
